Since 1989, the Deseret International Foundation, a volunteer based non-profit 501(c) 3 organization, has cultivated partnerships with local doctors in an effort to establish permanent and sustainable healthcare in developing countries.

The Deseret Foundation mission empowers and elevates local medical communities to reach out to people in need. The Deseret International program assists the communities with items they don’t have: supplies, equipment, facilities, screening and campaign infrastructure, and where needed, training. Historically, every dollar donated to Deseret International Foundation produces more than $100 in medical services to those in need.

In the Philippines, the Deseret International Foundation maintains an active artificial limb program. They are the main source of clubfeet surgeries. They do more eye work than any other organization, and they partner with the country’s leading cleft lip and pallet surgeons.

Through its partnership with Deseret International, the AgelCares Foundation is funding critically needed portable medical equipment including a portable microscope, a portable A-scan, a portable pulse oximeter, a portable cattery, and a portable slit lamp. This equipment and the ongoing donations of AgelCares contributors will make it possible for Philippine children to receive cleft lip/cleft pallet, clubfeet, and eye surgeries in their localized communities for the next five to six years.
